Nestled beyond a small dirt shoulder along the Kamehameha Highway along Molokai's eastern shore is is Sandy Beach, a small section of sand on the shore that will make visitors feel as if they are at the edge of the world.

Protected by a reef that lies slightly offshore, Sandy Beach has both generally calm and clear waters and an uncommonly deep bottom, making this one of the more ideal swimming beaches on this side of the island.

Being just a small shoulder pull out near milemarker 22, the beach is easy to miss. Keep an eye out as you drive around the curves. With such sparse population on this side of the island, it's likely you'll be the only ones at the beach. There are no amenities of any kind here however and no lifeguards are present.

The island of Maui rises in the near distance, creating a surreal background to a day at the beach.
