Smith's Tropical Paradise is a manicured botanical garden with easy walking paths that lead through a variety of Hawaiian plants and flowers, recreations of historical island scenes and villages, and themed areas.

The spacious gardens are good for families with children, or those looking for an easier tropical exploration experience than taking to the mountainous trails and paths in the area.

Peacocks wander the garden's 30 acre grounds, and lagoons punctuate the different themed areas. All set within Wailua Marina State Park and containing over 1 mile of paved walking paths, the garden grounds provide an interesting excursion into a manicured Hawaiian setting that can feel like a tropical botanical experience at times, while it can also feel almost like a roadside zoo attraction at other times. Though such may be to be expected in a locale that also offers the touristy package of luau dinners and river boat rides as well.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children. The gardens are open Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 8:30am to 4pm.
