Redfish Lake is one of Idaho's top summer destinations and it's easy to see why. The 5-mile by 1-mile lake offers plenty of swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, and camping opportunities while the surrounding Sawtooth Mountains are ideal for hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding.

The closest campground to Redfish Lake Lodge is Point Campground. It's so close that you can often hear the music from the lawn performances each Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evenings. It's beautiful beach access and proximity to the lodge make this one of the areas most popular campgrounds.

The campground offers 17 standard non-electric sites, eight of which are walk-in only. The others are for tents, trucks with campers, and vans. There are no RVs allowed in this campground due to the narrow, tight road. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit. Should you need it, firewood is available from the camp host for $6 a bundle. The Central Services dump station is about a mile away for those in need. Remember that you are in bear country, and it's important to put all your food, cooking utensils, and garbage away each night.

Be sure to check out the local trails, and there's even a ferry shuttle should you want a lift to the hiking trails at the south end of the lake. Should you need any additional provisions, stop by the General Store near the lodge for ice, propane, snacks and even ice cream treats.

Reservations are available from mid-May through mid-September. There are two other campgrounds that accept reservations at Redfish Lake: Outlet Campground and Glacier View.
