The Sun Valley Nordic Center is located just northeast of the iconic Sun Valley Lodge, and it is surrounded by 26 miles (42 kilometers) of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails that offer something for visitors of all skill levels. The luxurious Sun Valley Club hosts skiing in the winter and switches to a golf course clubhouse in the summer. Take in views of Bald Mountain from the easy green loops, or challenge yourself on the rolling terrain and many bridge-crossings on the harder northern sections. Trail Creek Loop, rated blue and intermediate, is a 3-mile (5-kilometer) loop that travels most of the course and allows you to check out many of the sections in one route. The long Diamondback Trail, rated black and difficult, is located in its own little valley across the road just to the northwest. It is mainly used by people in serious training. Dog Loop and the Boundary Trail both allow dogs and fat bikes, but they are the only two trails to do so, so please keep dogs and bikes off of the rest of the course. Several snowshoe trails criss-cross the course and lead toward the Hemingway Memorial for a total length of over 8 miles (14 kilometers).

The Sun Valley Club has a large and beautiful lobby, a restaurant, a pro shop on the top level, and cross-country ski and snowshoe equipment rental on the lower level. Just like everything associated with Sun Valley Lodge, the quality is top-notch. The terrain in the green areas has large and sweeping views and catches a lot of sun throughout the day, while the blue trails to the north run through some lovely forested scenery with the creek and its many bridges. The setting here is quite stunning, and the groomed trails are world-class. You must have a Sun Valley Trail Pass or BCRD/Sun Valley Combo pass to use these trails; check the full day, half day and senior rates here. Trail Creek Cabin is a rustic fine dining restaurant located near the Nordic Center. It offers dinner in the winter, and it is a great place to enjoy a special meal in a unique location.
