You are here
The Camp Creek Trail at Fort Harrison State Park makes for a perfect, mellow stroll through the forest to visit the duck pond. While you are sure to encounter fellow hikers along this route, it is by far the least crowded path to the pond. While most people choose to walk the paved Harrison Trace path to the pond, they are clearly missing out on the wonderful scenery and serenity the Camp Creek Trail offers to its travelers. A small stream and bluff provide interest and scenic views along the way. At the halfway point, the duck pond provides a quiet spot for contemplation.
Park at the Delaware Lake Picnic Area. Then follow the paved Harrison Trace path to the east side of Delaware Lake. Once past the lake, look for a paved path branching to your right. Walk up this paved path for about 100 feet and then look for the Camp Creek Trail sign on your left.
