Lawrence Creek Trail

The Lawrence Creek Trail flows through Fort Harrison State Park and makes for a great day of hiking through a beautiful, fragrant forest. Twists and turns, coupled with rises and falls through various ravines, adds an excellent variety and character to the trail. This location is perfect for trail running, walking the dog, or simply getting the family out of the house to spend some time getting to know Mother Nature again. The southeastern portion of the trail loop passes alongside Lawrence Creek, offering scenic views overlooking the running water, while wildflowers abound in the northern section.

Park at the Lawrence Creek Parking Area, and the trail is located just across the road. There are no bathrooms or potable water at the parking area, but are available just up the road within the state park. This multi-use trail is also used by mountain bikers, and although the bicycles should yield to hikers, it is best to allow the bicycles room to pass. If you're wanting to extend your hike, from the Lawrence Creek Parking Area you can also access the Schoen Creek Trail—just walk south from the parking area and look for a connector trail to your left within 50 yards.
