This peaceful campground is located on Upper Caney Lake in Caney Lakes Recreation Area of Kisatchie National Forest. It is open year round, even though the day use area on Lower Caney Lake is only open in summer. This means that any time of year you can stay overnight with easy access to Upper Caney Lake's boating, fishing, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Lower Caney Lake is only a short walk or drive away if you wish to explore this larger reservoir.

Amenities are basic, but comfortable. All sites have electric and water hookups as well as paved pull-ins with room for large RVs or trailers. Each has a picnic table, fire ring with grate, lantern post, and gravel tent pad. There are two bathroom/shower facilities and a dump station on site. Some sites are located right on the water, but it's a short walk from any of them to the water's edge. A few trails depart near the campground for hiking or biking. Walk-ins are available if sites are not full, but online reservations are an option March through August, and they are recommended for weekends and holidays.
