The campground at South Toledo Bend State Park consists of 55 campsites with water and electric hookups and five of some of the best tent campsites you’ll find in any state park in Louisiana. The five primitive tent campsites sit on top of a bluff that overlooks the lake. Each tent campsite has a lovely view overlooking the lake and comes equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Be prepared to carry your camping gear and firewood a short distance to the campsite. The tent sites are a short walk down a path from where you park. Even if you’re camping in an RV spot, it may be worth your time to walk down the main tent campsite path to get a good view of the lake if you can manage to do so without being intrusive. Several of the RV sites have good views of the lake was well, with sites 44 through 50 being directly connected to one of three float docks. The tile work on these float docks is beautiful and worth mentioning! Each float dock has several electrical outlets as well.

The state park also rents out 19 two-bedroom cabins that sleep up to eight guests each, and they include full kitchen and bathroom facilities and a back deck with a picnic table and primitive-style grill. Each cabin has some beautiful stonework on the front side of the cabin. The interiors are pretty nice, too! There is a boardwalk and a floating dock that is situated between cabins 8 and 9 that makes for easy access to the water.

Other activities in the state park include OHV riding, hiking, cycling, birding, and fishing. The state park has a two-lane boat ramp for easy access to the water. The lake hosts national bass fishing tournaments, so you know the fishing is good here!
