Cape Neddick Lighthouse sits just outside of York, Maine. The lighthouse sits on a small "nub" of rocks just off the coast and is also known as the Nubble Lighthouse. Built in 1879, the lighthouse is 138 years old. After changing hands many times, the lighthouse is now taken care of by the township of York, Maine.

The town has a created a great little park around the lighthouse for families and tourists to sit and enjoy the view. Throughout the park there are benches to sit on and rest after climbing the rocks of the rocky shoreline near the Nubble Lighthouse. There is a visitor center with knowledgeable staff, full gift shop, and restrooms. While you can't visit the actual lighthouse, Nubble remains one the most popular lighthouses on the East Coast.

York is a popular summer tourist spot. From the beaches to the mountains, York has everything. You can even camp along the coastline at one of the many campgrounds in the area. York has a lot to offer the outdoor explorer. There are plenty of beaches and coastline to fish from as well numerous beaches lining the town. Also be sure to check out one of York's many seafood restaurants to try some chowder.

Nubble Lighthouse offers some amazing 360-degree views of the beautiful Maine coastline. Whether you are there for sunset or sunrise, the view will be worth it.
