Also known as Kennebunk Beach, Mother’s Beach is part of a trio of beaches that includes Middle Beach and Gooch's Beach. All can be found along Beach Avenue in the picturesque Kennebunk area of coastal Maine. Mother’s Beach is a small sandy beach bookended by large rock formations with one prominent rock outcropping in the center dividing the beach into two sections. The small size and rocky surroundings, which shield the beach from larger wave action, make this a good beach for children. The western side of the beach is host to soft white sand and a playground complete with swings and slides. The smaller eastern section is rockier and has a few tide pools scattered among the seaweed-coated rocks.

Dogs are permitted on Mother’s Beach before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. from June 15 until Labor Day. From Labor Day until June 14, dogs are allowed all day. Dogs should always be within voice control or on-leash.

Parking in the area is very limited and by permit only. There are about 36 parking spaces at Mother’s Beach. Additional parking can be found along Beach Avenue in parallel fashion all the way around to Oaks Neck. Non-residents must purchase a permit at one of the parking kiosks along Beach Avenue. A day pass for a single vehicle costs $25.00. Parking spots were plentiful before 10:30 a.m.
