At the far north end of the Saco Bay lies a long stretch of white sand that spans from the outlet of the Scarborough River to the more popular Old Orchard Beach called Pine Point Beach. This beach is host to a multitude of beach activates, ranging from the casual sun bathing to building sand castles, surfing and fishing.

Public access to this beach is located at the end of Avenue 5. Here you will find a city-run parking lot, restrooms, showers and a food vendor. Parking of a passenger vehicle or motorcycle in the lot will cost $10 a day and $35 a day for RVs, buses and campers. Note that the collection hours for the parking lot are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

From May 1 until Labor Day, dogs are not allowed on this beach from the hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. They may be on a leash from 5 p.m. until dusk. There are also restricted areas where dogs are not allowed to enter due to the piping plover nesting areas. For more information about dog regulations, please reference the City of Scarborough website.
