Front Beach, a cute little beach located right on Beach Street in Rockport, Massachusetts, is worth a visit.
There are many beaches in Rockport, but if you are looking to spend the day at the beach while staying in Rockport, Front Beach is the one to choose. With soft sand, clear waters and nice ocean views, this is a great spot. The water is calm with minimal waves. Also located a short swim from the shore is a dock available to the public for enjoyment. Although it is not too far of a swim, it is far enough that new or inexperienced swimmers should not attempt it. Should anyone need help in the water, there are lifeguards on duty. Round picnic tables and benches are located above the beach on the main street, which are great for sitting and enjoying the views if you don’t want to sit in the sand.
Located minutes away from downtown Rockport Village, you can walk on over to enjoy the local shops and restaurants. Also a short drive away is Bear Skin Neck, which is a local art colony that contains many unique homemade art pieces.
Parking in Rockport is minimal, especially for visitors. Front Beach is no different, and it has street coin-operated parking as the main option. There is a private parking lot across the street from the beach and another lot farther down the road that offers a shuttle, both of which are available on busy days.
Overall, Front Beach is a great small beach that will satisfy all your summer needs. With countless shops and restaurants nearby, you will find plenty to do during your stay in Rockport.
