A simple yet beautiful beach, Good Harbor is a summer favorite among visitors and locals. With magnificent tall beach grass to the back of the beach and on either side of the footbridge, it seems as though it’s a hidden oasis.

The sand is soft, and the waters are calm and clear. With small waves, it is a great spot for children to play. Because it’s hidden behind the grassy dunes, it feels very private and has beautiful views of the ocean and Sandy Island, which is right off the beach shores. During low tide, you can even walk all the way over to Sandy Island. There are showers and restrooms located in the parking lot right in the middle of both beach access ramps making it accessible from either end of the beach. Good Harbor Beach is also ADA accessible, including many handicap spots, a drop-off spot near the footbridge, and even beach wheelchairs if you request them at the collection booth.

Because it is such a beautiful beach, it is very popular, and with popularity comes summer costs. It costs $25 to park on weekdays and $35 on weekends. There are no areas for street parking near Good Harbor Beach, so there is no avoiding these costs should you be driving in. However, after 5:00 p.m., there is no longer a charge for parking, and the crowds begin to thin out. If you don’t mind an afternoon swim, going after five o'clock is definitely a good idea to save a little money. Be mindful when going after 5:00 p.m.: There are no collection booth employees, so you won’t be able to get a beach wheelchair, and the lifeguards also leave at 5:00 p.m., which means you must swim at your own risk.

Good Harbor Beach is definitely worth the drive for the clear waters, soft sandy beaches, and beautiful beach grass, but with a parking price of $25 to $35, it is a bit expensive.
