The Lake Michigan Overlook in Michigan’s Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore provides spectacular sweeping views of the Lake Michigan shoreline.  The parking lot for the Overlook is located off Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive at the stop marked 9 and 10. There are vault toilets near the parking lot. Dogs are allowed at this Overlook if they are on a leash. There is a fee to enter Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore; in 2021 the cost of a 7-day vehicle pass was $25.

It is a short walk on a sandy trail to take in this must-see view. There is a viewing platform that sits 450 above Lake Michigan. Trekking down to the shores of Lake Michigan is allowed, but visitors are encouraged not to do so. It is a very steep descent down the bluff and it is a very strenuous climb back up. In addition, erosion of the bluff face is exacerbated by visitors making the trip.
