The Miners Castle rock formation is a very popular stop for visitors to Michigan’s Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There are no fees to visit Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. To get to Miners Castle from the town of Munising head east on Alger County Road H58 for about 6.5 mile; then head north on Miners Castle Road for 5 miles to the parking lot. There are restrooms at this location.

From the parking area to is a short walk to one of two overlook platforms. This overlook is wheelchair accessible and provides spectacular views of Miners Castles and Lake Superior. The water here has a unique turquoise color. There is a paved trail through the woods that leads to another overlook platform very near the Miners Castle formation. There are some stairs that must be climbed to get to this second platform. This is a half mile round trip walk. Dogs are allowed on this trail if they are on a leash.
