Located South of Munising, MI, in the Upper Peninsula on a small pond within the Hiawatha National Forest sits Otter Lake Lodges and Campground. Otter lake boasts being the only full service campgound in the Hiawatha National Forest and comes with small, non-motorized boating craft rentals and laundry facilties. The campground's location provides a unique and family friendly staging point for many of the area's natural attractions including, but not limited to: Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island National Recreation Area, Palms Book State Park, and of course the 894,836-acre Hiawatha National Forest.
In all, the campground hosts 70 campsites; within this number are 15 rustic tent sites, 6 water and electric sites, and the rest having varied length accessibility of electric sites for tents and rectreation vehicles. All sites are well shaded with plenty of tree cover, but grass is at a premuim in most sites as they are all majority dirt/sand covered. A lodge is also available for rent with 6 bedrooms, full kitchen, and bathroom; it is located near the main cabin for check-in. On site ammenities inlcude fishing and non-motorized boat rentals, volleyball and Ga-ga ball pits, basketball court, playgorund, beach, and tetherball court. The shower house also comes with an annexed laundry room and dish washing station for those looking to keep their site clean of waste.
Keep in mind, prices very depenent on the site rented and it's size relative to the requirements of various trailers and recreation vehicles. Also, holiday weekends require different stipulations on lengths of stay, so calling the campground or checking their website is advised.
