Sable Falls is a scenic 75-foot-tall tiered waterfall in Michigan’s Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The parking lot for Sable Falls is located about a mile and a half west of Grand Marais, Michigan off Alger County Road H-58. There are restrooms located by the parking area.

The trail to the falls from the parking area is only a few hundred yards. Dogs that are leashed are allowed on this trail. Be aware that there are many steps down stairways to reach the falls. As the sign says at the trailhead: “168 stair steps down to Sable Falls and 168 steps back up”. After viewing the falls, you can continue down the trail a short way to a rock beach where Sable Creek flows into Lake Superior.

If you are looking for a longer hike to the falls you can start at the Grand Sable Visitor Center and take the North Country Trail. The hike to the falls is 1.2 miles one way.
