The Wetland Sanctuary Trail is a popular trail with walkers, hikers, and bicyclists. The trail is located in the city of Blaine, Minnesota, and is a mile and a half long; it runs from Lexington Avenue North to East Lake Park in The Lakes neighborhood. There is parking available at both ends of the trail.
The trail has mixed surfaces of pavement, gravel, and a wide boardwalk. The trail is very flat and winds past wetland and upland mesic forest habitats. The forest portions contain hardwoods such as maple, aspen, and oak. The west end of the trail is a paved lollipop loop that is popular with residents of the neighborhood. About midway on the trail there is a viewing platform that overlooks the wetlands. A number of interpretive signs can be found along the trail. There arefuture plans for additional trails in the sanctuary and for a nature center at the Lexington Avenue North location.
