Hidden Falls is located in St. Paul right next to the Mississippi River. Its location makes it one of the more accessible parks in the area, and being near the Mississippi River the trail offers plenty of beach to explore and a beautiful view of the surrounding bluffs. All in all, this is a wonderful stop to see a beautiful waterfall, eat, and play games with family or friends.

The falls are located down a dirt path next to the picnic area. The path is well worn and left unmaintained during the winter months. The walk to the falls is very easy, following a creek that is formed by the falls. There is one bridge that gives you a wonderful view of the bluffs and the creek the valley is in.

When you first arrive, there are a few parking lots in the area. One of them is close to the falls and the picnic area. The picnic area is equipped with plenty of picnic tables and grills. They are all located under a roof, which makes this an ideal spot for any time of year or weather.

As you continue up the path, you can choose to take stone stairs up to the top of the bluffs or continue on to the bottom of the falls. If you choose the stairs, it can be quite slippery after rain or during winter, so use caution. There is a built-in handrail if needed. Once at the top of the bluffs you will be treated to a view of the Mississippi River valley, and you are able to get to the top of the falls to see down the path you just explored.

If you would prefer to skip the falls, the Mississippi River is the place to see eagles or skip rocks. The beach next to the Mississippi has trees that have had their roots exposed by the river during a high tide and make great jungle gyms for kids to explore and climb. There are several benches located nearby if you would prefer to sit and take in the sights and sounds of the river. Another path is also available and follows the river into fun wooded areas to explore. If you want to see all it has to offer, be prepared with waterproof boots! The park is also dog friendly, so bring your pets and explore the trails.
