The Interpretative Bog Boardwalk is located in Savanna Portage State Park near McGregor, Minnesota. There is a fee to enter the park; a day use or annual permit can be purchased at the Park Office. The Interpretative Bog Boardwalk can be reached by taking a 0.9 out-and-back hike. Dogs are allowed on the trail to the boardwalk and the boardwalk when on a leash. Parking is available at the Shumway Lake boat launch.

This hike starts by the lake; look for the Shumway Lake Trail trailhead. Take the Shumway Lake Trail north for about a third of a mile. Look for the trail to the bog walk which branches off to the left. In a few hundred yards you will reach Bog Boardwalk which has interpretive signs about the bog habitat. The carnivorous pitcher plant is one of the many unique plants that can be found here. The hike to the bog boardwalk is very level and wide which makes it suitable for almost all abilities. The boardwalk ends at a platform where a pond surrounded by the bog can be viewed.

A map of the park and its hiking trails can be found here.
