Jay Cooke State Park offers a little bit for everyone. Anyone who loves trails will love this park as the park trails connect with the Willard Munger State Trail. These trails are very popular as they are multi-use trails, and if you decide to leave the state park to go on the Willard Munger Trail you will find yourself on a 63-mile long trail.  At Jay Cooke State Park you can find the popular swinging suspension bridge that crosses the fast waters of St. Louis River. This bridge was recently restored after it was destroyed in the floods of 2012. The park is roughly 8,000 acres and has an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife.

In the summer the park offers:

  • 50 miles of hiking trails
  • 8 miles of paved biking trails
  • 13 miles of mountain bike trails
  • 6 miles of horseback trails.

In the Winter the park offers:

  • 32 miles of cross-country skiing
  • 7 miles of snowshoeing trails.

Camping is available at this park and sites range from backpack only sites to RV sites to cabins that have with showers and bathrooms. Different state park maps are available and applicable to different seasons.
