The Tamarack Nature Center near White Bear Lake offers three classic cross-country skiing loops: a 1-kilometer loop for beginners, an easy 3-kilometer loop that is generally flat, and a 4-kilometer intermediate loop with hilly sections. These are dual track, one-way loops through woods, marshlands, and prairie. Ski and snowshoe rentals are available Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (the last rental is at 2:00 p.m.). Cross-country ski and snowshoe lessons are also offered.

Skiing at the Tamarack Nature Center requires a Great Minnesota Ski Pass. A daily pass is available for purchase at the rental shack. If you are interested in one-year or three-year pass, online purchase is available. Parking at the Tamarack Nature Center is free.
