This short hike to White Sky Rock offers a quick workout and tremendous views over the forest and Caribou Lake. This quick hike is highly recommended once the fall colors change in late September and early October. For those of you who don't want to hike far in the dark to get a great sunrise photo, this is the perfect spot for you.

There will be a small parking area on your left before the boat launch that holds maybe three to four cars. Park in this little lot if you can. There will be a Superior Hiking Trail sign on the left side of the parking lot, and because this hike is part of a larger system, there are other hikes you can do off of this same trail. Follow the short trail up to the road you just came from and cross the road. You'll see the trail leading uphill and into the woods. It's all uphill with about a 230-foot elevation gain, but it's a fairly short hike. Follow this trail until you get to White Sky Rock and the end of the spur trail, and enjoy the views. If want to extend your hike more as you return, continue on to Lake Agnes.
