Boulder Beach is one of the most easily accessible areas of shoreline inside Lake Mead Natinoal Recreation Area. However this easy access can often lead to large crowds at this rocky lake shore beach.

Visitors can access the beach area from Hemenway Harbor which lies slightly further to the south via a dirt road, or down a paved road from the Boulder Campground area [submitted at the same time, add hyperlink]. Boulder Beach has a day use area with covered picnic benches and cooking grills at a shady area just up the hill from the beach itself which is ADA-accessible. This area also has water fountains, volleyball courts and a ranger station. When visitors head down the sloped road to reach the shore of Lake Mead, they reach a wide gravel parking area along the lake's calm shoreline.

A single interpretive sign offers information on the lake, and there are life jackets that visitors are welcome to borrow during their visit.

While the day use area provides a great place to cook with wide views of Lake Mead and its dramatic surrounding landscape, the beach itself is less than scenic and it's rocky shoreline is not the best for walking. Some industrial infrastructure stands prominently along the lakeshore nearby.

Those looking for a more ideal beach experience would do well to head further into the park's interior. However those looking for a scenic picnic spot near the park's entrance may find the picnic area ideal.

Boulder Beach is subject to Lake Mead National Recreation Area's rules and regulations, including being closed between dusk and 6:30 am. There are vault toilet at the beach and water fountains in the day use area.
