The Overlook Loop Trail is one of several trails inside Spring Mountain Ranch State Park at the Las Vegas Valley's western fringe. Though relatively short at 0.75 miles, this trail packs in a quick steep climb up oxide-colored stone to an overlook point where hikers can catch views over the park as well as Blue Diamond Road and the mountains just beyond. Hiking this in a counterclockwise direction allows for cranking out a quick burst of uphill slope and then getting to the overlook point before tracing a more gradual downhill. The trail offers a couple forks where hikers can opt for the shorter steeper path or the more circuitous and gradual route.

One other object of note is the Wilson Family cemetery, the resting place for several members of one of the early pioneering families in the area.

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park has a $10 day use fee. More information is available by visiting the park website or by calling 702.875.4141.
