The Petroglyph Wall at Red Rock Canyon is a very short and easy hike that leads to a cliff-side featuring some fascinating historical rock art. The trail begins at the Willow Springs Trailhead where you’ll also find restrooms (vault toilets) and a great picnic area with tables.
The trail to the Petroglyphs is only 0.20 miles round trip. The hike itself is a bit rocky in areas, and does cross a dry wash. Once at the wall you’ll be able to see several areas where the petroglyphs are. They are estimated to be at least 800 years old. Please do not cross the fence and most importantly, please do not touch the petroglyphs! Oils from your skin can damage them.
While in the area be sure to check out some of the great longer hikes including White Rock Loop and La Madre Spring.
