Redstone is a picnic area along Lake Mead National Recreation Area's Northshore Road with impressive red sandstone formations towering over the landscape.

With a sizeable parking area and paved walkways leading to several covered picnic benches and a vault toilet, the area makes a good rest stop when driving along Lake Mead's north side. Visitors can unpack a picnic lunch and eat amidst a scenic landscape, or can easily walk the short 15 minute loop trail that leads to some of the rock formations that feel a lot like a Southern Utah environment. A few interpretive signs along the walkways offer a glimpse into the processes that formed the colorful surroundings. The sandy landscape also makes it easy to veer away from the crowds and explore many of the surrounding formations with fewer people around.

The landscape began its geologic evolution millions of years ago, which has today left towering sandstone stacks, volcanic outcroppings and narrow canyons. The area is part of the Pinto Valley Wilderness. Bobcats, coyote, mountain lions and bighorn sheep are also present in the wilderness area.

There is no water available at Redstone.
