Silver Springs Beach #7 Campground is one of only two developed campgrounds within the Lahontan State Recreation Area. While camping along the lakeshore is permitted anywhere outside of day-use and boat launch areas, all amenities at these primitive camps are closed from October to May, funneling park visitors to Silver Springs Beach #7, where toilets and showers are operational year round. This leaves the handful of highly desirable sites at a premium.

With 25 spaces, the most desirable sites are the asphalt pads perched over the lakeshore. All sites in the campground have a picnic table and firepit grill. Bathrooms contain flush toilets, and showers are outdoors.

When full, the lake contains 10,000 surface acres of water (significantly less than when the lake was an ancient sea covering 8500 square miles during the last Ice Age). A boat launch is near the campground, and this is accessible for an additional fee.

Nightly camp fees are $15. A combined camping and boat launch fee of $25 is optional. Payment is made at an entrance gate upon driving into the recreation area. An RV dump station is also available at the entrance station. Basic groceries and amenities are available in the town of Silver Springs located 5 miles from the campground.
