Timber Creek Campground is a high elevation (8500') campground in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest near the Ely area.

The campground is small, containing only 6 individual car sites (numbered 1-6) and 5 group sites (called A-E). The campground lies up a 4.3 mile graded dirt road, and is open seasonally from mid-May to October, depending on conditions. Each site contains a fire pit, grill and picnic table, along with flat parking areas. Timber creek flows alongside the campground - site 5 sits immediately beside the creek.

The lower sites sit in aspen groves, that explode in color in the autumn. A couple vault toilets, as well as water spigots, are spread throughout the campground. The Forest Service operates the campground, and posts information and collects fees at a self-pay station at the entry. There is no trash collection at Timber Creek.

Group sites have more tent platforms and tables, and site A has a playground and swingset.

A horse camp is located just before the campground.

Group sites are reservable in advance, while individual tent sites are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Complete information can be found on the Recreation.gov site.
