Willow Spring Loop in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is a short and easy walk that leads past some beautiful terrain, as well as historical Indian remnants including a pictograph site and agave roasting pits. Lost Creek Canyon Falls is also a worthwhile spur from this trail. Do keep in mind that it costs $15 to enter Red Rock Canyon, unless you have an annual pass, and reservations are currently required to drive the scenic loop. Please visit their website for more information.

The trail begins at the Willow Spring Trailhead. If hiking counter-clockwise you’ll first cross a wash and gain a slight bit of elevation. A popular climbing spot is just off trail here, so be sure to keep an eye out for anyone high up on the wall.

The trail passes by, and between, some large boulders. Informative plaques line the trail and tell of the historical significance of this area. Petroglyphs are visible on a few large boulders here. You’ll then pass the namesake spring on a boardwalk, before heading downhill and again crossing the wash to end up at the Lost Creek Trailhead.

The trail crosses the road and then travels through some scenic desert terrain. The last stop is at another historical Native American site complete with more petroglyphs as well as an old agave roasting pit. The trail returns and ends at Willow Spring Trailhead.
