Pawtuckaway State Park Campground is a large, family-friendly campground with a lot to offer. Campsites and cabins are located on two big islands and a peninsula, with many campsites offering views or access to Pawtuckaway Lake. There is a large parking area for day use beach access, which fills quickly on weekends during the summer. Trails connect campground areas to the main beach and day use area, so you don't have to drive to the water if you don't mind a short walk. There is a boathouse, playground, ball field, and a large picnic area with views of the lake and access to the beach. A campground store provides the essentials and canoe rentals, and two foot bridges lead to small islands, which are great for fishing. Pawtuckaway State Park also has plenty of hiking trails, including a fire tower on South Mountain, so you can take in the view and watch for wildlife during your stay in the park.
