This dual use trail in greater Greensboro offers both scenic hiking, running, and mountain biking. The area is shaded by wonderful collections of trees that allow slivers of light to fall on the floor of the forest. The trail leads you through dense forest area around Lake Higgins. During periods of heavy rain, the nearby lake tends to spill over and make this hike muddy. Apart from this, the trail is easy to navigate and well maintained. Markers along the trail let you know your distance every quarter-mile. After the second mile you'll run into a road with more signage.

Bald Eagle Trail is a favorite with the mountain bike community in the area, and it is a nice choice for an afternoon ride. The lake views are a nice bonus on this out-and-back trail.
