Located in the country's only tallgrass prairie national grassland, Jorgen's Hollow doesn't disappoint for infinite vistas and wandering thoughts. The oak savannah provides a park-like setting and offers shade at this primitive campground. Campers with horses are allowed at 10 of the 14 campsites. Summertime brings hoards of colorful butterflies, evening lightning, and soaring eagles.

Thirty miles of the North Country National Scenic Trail run through Sheyenne National Grassland and through the campground entrance. Additionally, the 4-mile Oak Leaf Trail makes a great day hike from the campground. Be prepared to share these trails with the occasional horseback rider.

Jorgen's Hollow lies within nearly 135,000 acres of public and private grasslands. Cattle grazing, sheep flocks with guard dogs, and prescribed fires may be encountered. There is currently no campground fee, but that is supposed to change sometime in 2017.
