Named in honor of Saint Sebastian in 1603 by  the explorer Sebastian Vizcaino, this point of land rises over 600 feet above sea level and offers views exceeding 40 miles both north and south. There are two parking areas to choose from, with the northern one being best for parking large RVs; the views are not that great, but it is also an access point fo the Oregon Coast Trail heading north.

The south parking area is a bit more cramped for space, but it offers great views from north to south. There is a trailhead here for the fabulous Cape Sebastian Trail that leads down to the beach at Hunters Cove. The best views to the north (including Humbug Mountain on a clear day) are to be had by walking just 100 feet or so down the trail from the south parking area. There are minimal amenities here, just a vault toilet, but it is a great quick stop to catch the views and visitors in spring may get good views of migrating grey whales.
