Perhaps best known for the bright opal water that catches the eye of drivers along the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, or as a trailhead for accessing South Sister, Devils Lake also offers a relaxing afternoon paddle.  At only 23 acres, this little lake is also perfect for kids since the average depth of the lake is just over 3 feet, keeping the subalpine lake relatively warm.  And if you like to fish, the lake is stocked with catchable-sized rainbow trout and has a native population of reproducing brook trout.

Note:  The only access to the lake is via the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, which is closed during the winter months due to extensive snow pack.  The highway typically opens in late June and closes in early November.

Amazing lake. Perfect for chillin, kayaking or just floating and falling asleep on your floaty. Right off the HWY there are good photo spots and a trail that takes you around the lake. Turn off down one of the dirt roads off the HWY to get to the parking lot day areas. Also camping spots as well.
