Little Fawn Campground is often overlooked by the frequent visitors to Elk Lake.  In fact, with a total of 32 sites, it is actually the lake's largest campground, though half of the sites are often closed to save maintenance costs in areas with low demand.

Granted, Little Fawn Campground doesn't offer picture-perfect views of South Sister, Broken Top or Mount Bachelor, but it does offer outdoor serenity: it is the only campground in the area that is not situated alongside the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway.  Besides, those views can easily be accessed with a five-minute paddle on the lake.

The campground doesn't offer potable water, so be prepared, but it does have a private beach along Elk Lake's southeastern cove.

Note: The only access to the campground is via the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway which is closed during the winter months due to extensive snow pack.  The highway typically opens in late June and closes in early November.
