If you are looking to spend some time in the woods, Green Canyons Campground is for you!  With Douglas firs soaring over 200 feet above the campground, you will enjoy the dense old-growth forest in its most pristine form.  This also means this little 15-spot campsite along the Salmon River stays quite shady in the summer months.  To soak up all of what the Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness has to offer, take the Old Salmon River Trail from the campground or head south to the Salmon River Canyon Trail.  For more exercise and views of Mount Hood, cross the Salmon River Road and climb 2,500 feet on the Green Canyon Trail.  This will take you to the southern edge of Hunchback Mountain and give you further access to Devil’s Peak.

Note: The only potable water is located at a pump near the campground entrance.
