No point on Kapka Butte rises above tree line, so the viewpoints are limited to clearings and never too dramatic. This is simultaneously a pro and con of Kapka Butte because it experiences limited traffic as a result. Most visitors to the Kapka Butte Sno-Park are hauling snow mobiles, so if you are in search of a short, backcountry style outing in the Central Oregon winter, consider this one.

There is no established or marked trail to the top. Depending on snowfall, you may have to find your own way, which is relatively straightfoward - locate the butte and keep going up! Various points on each face of the butte offer clearings view views for miles, but they are often slightly obstructed by the larger surrounding topography.
