Located just south of Triangle Lake in the Oregon Coast Range, Lake Creek Falls offers a unique series of small waterfalls that are popular for swimming and wildlife watching. The rocks form a natural 100-foot waterslide commonly known as Slide Rock. Smaller pools offer swimming opportunities during the warmer summer months.

During the fall and winter coho and Chinook salmon and steelhead return to the river to spawn. Salmon and steelhead are anadromous, which means they start their life in freshwater, migrate out to the salty waters of the ocean, and then return to the freshwater streams where they first hatched. After spending up to eight years in the Pacific Ocean, the salmon return to the stream to complete their lifecycle. The falls are the perfect spot to watch the fish jump their way upstream. The Bureau of Land Management installed fish ladders in 1989 to increase fish access to the upper portions of the stream. Fall is the best time to view the waterfalls and the wildlife around them.

The small parking area, with vault toilets, is located on the north side of Highway 36. A short half-mile trail is located next to the road and descends down a steep staircase to the day use area. Interpretive signs are located there. Fishing is not allowed. Leashed pets are allowed. Be safe when walking on the slippery, moss covered rocks or while swimming.

A lot of people trash this location with garbage and beer cans and bottles. If you happen to think to bring a bag to help pick up trash and other garbage it would help keep it clean. Also if going in the water consider water shoes or sandals to protect your feet from broken glass.

Very cool location even with the disrespectful party activities that happen here.

"The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will be repairing the fish ladders at Lake Creek Falls. To complete this work, the Lake Creek Falls Recreation Site and nearby parking area will be temporary closed to public access from early July thru mid-September."
