Two official campgrounds on the shores of Blue River Reservoir host overnight guests, Mona and Lookout.  Lookout Campground is by far the most straightforward and spartan, perhaps even slapdash.  Lookout is the site of Blue River Reservoir’s second and most substantial boat ramp, and this is the primary function of this site.  The camping that is provided is really just an additional loop that extends off of the parking area that is affiliated with the boat ramp.  As such, there is little shade and little privacy.

On the other hand, if you are traveling with an RV or a trailer and plan to bring your camping environment with you, this campground does provide the basics (vault toilets, potable water, waste disposal) in addition to superb access to the reservoir, which is really the main attraction.  Many who camp along the shore here are able to tie their boats up directly in front of their sites.  For this convenience, campers may choose to overlook the absence of shade and privacy.
