There is no doubt that the Metolius River is one of Oregon's most coveted recreation destinations, and it is well-known that the further down river you go the more likely you are to avoid the summer crowds.  As the second furthest campground from Camp Sherman (after Candle Creek Campground), the use of Lower Bridge stays true to this local insight.

The 12 campsites at Lower Bridge Campground are relatively smaller, more shaded, and situated closer together than the river's 10 other campgrounds.  Although we offer this minor critique, and it is only very minor, both the campground's day use area on the river's western banks and the perfectly situated fishing platform (lower bridge) more than compensate for any shortcomings.

Note: Lower Bridge Campground is open May 1 through October 7.
