One of several campgrounds in the Newberry Crater area, McKay Crossing offers solitude and a beautiful setting in exchange for being away from the primary attractions of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. The campground is small and has sites distributed on both sides of Paulina Creek and adjacent to the lovely waterfall. There is good fishing on the creek and swimming below the falls. There are only primitive amenities, but the sites are nicely separated and large. All sites are first-come, first-served.
