The Mount Hood Meadows Nordic trail system can be thought of as an Eastside network and a Westside network, with an access road that divides the two. You can start any trail in this system at the Nordic Center in the parking lot attached to the Eastside trails, where you can purchase your nordic pass, warm up on a cold day, get some instruction and rent gear.

For this loop we stitched together pieces from several loops, essentially staying to the outermost edge of the trail network. From the Nordic Center, head east toward the Hanel Loop, staying left to start the loop, and continuing onto Raven’s Way. There is an intermediate level descent on this section that may feel a little steep for beginners. Keep left again as the route intersects Beargrass Loop, and continue on Beargrass as it returns north back toward the Nordic Center.

There was enough snow yesterday for a quick getaway...went from the parking lot up past Sahallie Falls to where the trail ends. This trail is groomed and there are a few (short) side trails to do as well. It was a perfect sunny day! Looked like a few folks were doing the Elk Meadows trail, which I'd like to try next.
