Ocean Beach is a small day use area managed by the Forest Service. It is located in the Siuslaw National Forest between Florence and Waldport. Picnic tables around the parking area make for a great place to enjoy a snack or lunch during a break while traveling Highway 101. Beach access is easy via a short, paved trail that leaves from the parking area. There is a vault toilet on the north end of the parking lot.

At the south end of Ocean Beach you will be able to view a rocky outcropping. These interesting geologic features are common along the Oregon coast. Along the Oregon Coast, headlands or capes are made up of basalt, a hard volcanic rock that takes longer to erode than the softer material around it. The ocean waves beat against the coastline, and over time the waves break down the softer material, leaving the headlands to protrude out toward the ocean.

Ocean Beach is part of the Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve and Marine Protected Areas. This means that there are specific prohibitions against fishing and the harvesting of fish, invertebrates, and seaweed. Check here for specific clarifications on regulations, exemptions, and a detailed representation of the area's boundaries.
