Newberry National Volcanic Monument is an amazing geographical and recreational treasure in the high desert south of Bend. One of four popular campgrounds in the national monument, Paulina Lake offers outstanding views and lake activities like boating and fishing, as well as a location convenient to many of the best attractions of Newberry Crater. The popular Paulina Lake Shore Loop Trail runs right through the campground.

The campground is located right next to the lake and the adjacent wetlands.  Some sites have nice lake and mountain views but are not directly on the lake shore. The campground is suitable for tent campers as well as having many sites that can accommodate larger RVs. There is a boat ramp and excellent fishing or paddling. There is good privacy and separation between most campsites and, while wooded, the campground has an open feel with lots of sunshine.  This is an extremely popular campground, and reservations are a must during busy times.
