Sacandaga is a low-use campground, which makes it a great option for escaping summertime crowds. Located along the Middle Fork of the Willamette River, the campground offers viewpoints, river access, beautiful surroundings, and it is in close proximity to hiking and biking trails. There are two paths that lead down to the river. The viewpoint is about a quarter mile from the campground, and it has a bench for relaxing.

Check out the Oregon Central Military Wagon Road for a dose of Oregon history. A portion of the wagon road is visible and marked with a sign at the entrance of the campground. The road was constructed between 1865 and 1866 to be a connection between Eugene and Idaho's Snake River Valley. Funding supplies for the project were challenged by the all-consuming Civil War, however; Oregon was unable to foot the bill, so the state relied on private industry to construct the road. Eugene's Oregon Central Military Wagon Road Company was granted land rights along the road's route. It was beneficial for all involved, and construction happened quickly.

The campground contains 17 sites, all with picnic tables and fire rings. Some campsites include pedestal grills. Maximum length for trailers is 24 feet. Additional vehicles are $4.00 per night.
