Salt Creek Falls

Though relatively unknown, Salt Creek Falls descends 286 feet into a basalt amphitheater base, making it Oregon's third tallest waterfall after Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge and Munson Creek Falls near Tillamook.  However, with an average flow of 250 cubic feet per second (cfs), Salt Creek Falls is much more impressive than Munson Creek Falls, which only boasts 5 cfs.*

Access to the falls is on a short paved path that hangs high above Salt Creek's eroded gorge.  You can also take the short, non-paved hiking trail down the canyon to a lower viewpoint.

If waterfalls are what you are looking for, this stop has many more in store!  Consider hiking 1.2 miles to the broad and lacy 120-foot Diamond Creek Falls, or hike an additional 1.3 miles to 160-foot Fall Creek Falls.
