Shelter Cove Resort and Marina is nestled in the trees on the western shore of Odell Lake and in the shadow of Willamette Pass Resort. Shelter Cove Resort offers year-round lodging in cabins that range in capacity from 2 to 10 people and a lodge that has four apartments that can sleep six people each. During the summer the resort also provides tent and RV camping. There is a well-stocked general store that serves quality espresso drinks, and the store is a commonly used drop site for through hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail, which passes only a few miles away.

In winter there is a sledding hill and a small, signed network of cross-country ski trails at the resort. In addition, there is direct access by ski to the miles of great trails that lie to the south of Gold Lake Sno-Park. For downhill skiers, Willamette Pass Resort is only a few miles away, and it offers some enjoyable, family friendly skiing in addition to the steepest resort run in Oregon. Their high-speed, six-person lift ensures a day of skiing with virtually no waiting in line. Winter is also the time to go if you want to enjoy the Odell Lake area in relative solitude. Be sure to bring your binoculars to see the large number of wintering waterfowl and resident bald eagles.

In summer many focus on fishing, although there is great access to National Forest hiking trails as well. Most cabins have a personal dock, and the main docks near the general store are expansive. The place fills up with RV and tent campers on summer weekends as well.

The cabins are clean and up to date, and the staff is friendly and helpful. In winter the staff sometimes even keeps a bonfire going on the lakeshore for the guests.
