Just a short walk from the day use resources of Sunset Bay State Park, Sunset Bay State Park Campground is an ideal spot to set up for a few nights to explore this remarkable section of the Oregon Coast. This campground is on the larger side, and given its year-round status and ideal location, receives almost 70,000 overnight guests annually. Inevitably, this means the area can feel crowded at times, and some sites are ambitiously close to each other. However, several other sites allow for more privacy with a little more vegetation and space. The campground is well equipped to handle RV and trailer-style camping, and yurts (one pet friendly) are available for those who can truly plan ahead.

Thirty sites are full-hookup, 35 have electrical and water hookups, and the remaining 65 sites are car/tent sites. All are close to water, plumbed bathrooms and showers, and the trails that interconnect the campground. There are eight yurts, and a hiker/biker camp is slightly removed to the north. Several sites, yurts, and both of the restrooms in the C and D loops are ADA accessible. You’ll also find a fish cleaning station and an interpretive center to help educate children about the area.
