Located on the southern shore of Timothy Lake, Hoodview Campground is one of eight established campgrounds that encircle the reservoir.  Hoodview is the campground that draws the largest crowds, but keep in mind that it is not the lake's only campground with spectacular views of Oregon’s highest peak.  Like several of the other south shore campgrounds at Timothy Lake, Hoodview acts as a campground and day-use area with campsites, picnic areas, pit toilets and potable water, but Hoodview also offers several ideal swimming spots east of the boat ramp.  Be sure to make early reservations for peak summer months because this site very popular and books up well in advance.

If the Hoodview Campground is full, check out the south shore’s other campgrounds: Pine Point Campground, Gone Creek Campground and Oak Fork Campground.  If you want a more serene outdoor experience, explore the lake’s North Arm Campground, the walk-in only Meditation Point Campground, or the nearby Little Crater Lake and Clackamas Lake Campgrounds.

Hi Megan,
I just spoke with a Forest Service Ranger at the Zigzag Ranger station who confirmed that dogs are allowed at Hoodview, but they must be leashed at all times.

Hi Everyone. Just a quick note on this beautiful campsite. Pets are actually NOT allowed, so please be aware when booking. Happy Camping!
Great campsite. Good facilities, fantastic water access, views of Mt. Hood and decent separation between sites.
